Frequently Asked Questions

What is Broken Duck Studio?
Broken Duck Studio is a creator-first members club and production space for YouTubers in Chiang Mai. We offer purpose-built rooms (voiceover booth, two recording studios, podcast room, wardrobe/makeup, a full cyclorama green screen, collaboration bay, and an outdoor lounge), 24/7 member access, and hands-on programs (workshops + a partner/MCN pilot) to help you ship high-quality videos consistently.
See the space: Facilities & Member Guide.
Where are you located?
We’re in Mae Pu Kha, San Kamphaeng—about 25 minutes from central Chiang Mai—on a quiet plot by the rice fields (great for audio). Exact directions are shared after you book a tour or join.
Who can become a member?
Creators who are actively building (or committing to build) a YouTube channel. You don’t need to be monetized. We keep membership capped at ~50 to protect availability and community quality.
Can I use the studios for non-YouTube content?
Yes—as long as your primary focus is growing a YouTube channel. Many members repurpose footage for Shorts, IG, or TikTok alongside their YouTube uploads.
How does access work?
Members receive secure 24/7 entry and book rooms through our online scheduler. For early members while we roll features out, we’ll help with manual bookings if needed.
How do I book rooms?
You’ll get a login for the booking portal after onboarding. Reserve studios, the VO booth, podcast room, wardrobe/makeup, collab bay, and green screen in hourly blocks. Please arrive on time and reset the room for the next member.
Can I bring guests or a small crew?
Yes. Members get up to four guest passes per month. You’re responsible for guest conduct and keeping sessions on schedule.
What facilities do you have?
A treated voiceover booth, two flexible recording studios, a podcast room, wardrobe/makeup, an equipment & collaboration bay, a full cyclorama green screen, and an outdoor lounge. See photos and details on the Facilities page.
Do you provide gear?
We recommend bringing your own camera/mic chain for a consistent look. Limited on-site gear and rental referrals are available—ask when booking and we’ll help.
What amenities are included?
Personal lockers, high-speed internet (with backup), filtered water, access to workshops and member sessions, and a fair-use booking policy designed to keep rooms camera-ready.
When are the workshops?
Our current public workshops run on Saturdays at Weave Artisan Society, Chiang Mai: We’ll continue hosting workshops going forward; members can also propose and host sessions. See all workshops.
Where do workshops take place?
The current series is hosted at Weave Artisan Society, Chiang Mai. Some member-only sessions happen at Broken Duck Studio in San Kamphaeng.
What is the Partner / MCN program?
It’s a hands-on partnership focused on launching new channels and guiding you to monetization. We help you pick a niche, complete a one-year Content Projections model, and build an AI-assisted pipeline (script → VO → storyboard → export) using Reactivid (closed beta). You publish weekly; we review hooks, scripts, VO, branding, and thumbnails; then iterate based on retention and CTR. Learn more: Partner Program.
How does the revenue share work?
A simple 20% MCN-style share applies while we’re actively guiding your channel and you’re using our Reactivid-powered workflow. No lock-ins, and if we’re not adding value, we don’t take value. Operated with/through Ellwood Bristol (Canada)—final paperwork confirmed on acceptance.
Is the partner program only for existing channels?
It’s primarily for new channels. If you have an existing channel, great—we can evaluate whether to relaunch or spin up a focused new channel based on your goals.
How do I get into the Reactivid closed beta?
The Oct 4 workshop is the entry point; participants onboard into the beta there. Apply here: Advanced AI YouTube Production — Apply.
Do you guarantee monetization or views?
No guarantees. We promise rigor, iteration, and practical help across the stack. Results depend on consistency, fit, and execution.
What are your ethics and platform policies?
We don’t fabricate claims, farm engagement, or cut corners that risk your account. We favor transparent practices and long-term channel health.
Do you have a waitlist?
Yes. If we’re at capacity, we’ll add you to the waitlist and reach out as slots open. Email admin@brokenduckmedia.com with your channel (or concept) and goals.
Can small teams join?
Yes—small teams (up to three people) can collaborate under one channel. Please book appropriate rooms and observe fair-use during peak hours.
What should I bring for a typical shoot?
Camera, lens, batteries, media, mic chain (or VO mic/interface), laptop with your NLE, and any props/wardrobe. We’ll share room-specific tips after booking (lighting presets, audio patching, etc.).
Do you help with titles and thumbnails?
Yes—through workshops, office hours, and (for partners) weekly review loops. We prioritize data-informed formats, hook structures, and iterative testing.
How do I get started?
The fastest path is to attend a Saturday workshop or apply for the Oct 4 cohort: Or email admin@brokenduckmedia.com to book a tour and discuss membership.
